One of Britain’s first credible rap acts, utilising rhymes built over expertly executed ragamuffin breaks, with cockney accents thrown in for good measure. Unfortunately, London Posse were not free of the misogyny made more explicit by the gangsta rappers (tracks like ‘Sexy Gal’ and ‘Living’ implied that the entire female gender was out en masse to rob them of their money). London Posse at least possessed wit and a nose for rhythm to dilute their urban warnings. Stylistically, the album was notable for its Eric B And Rakim -styled delivery.
