Long For the Coast is the ever-evolving musical alias of British singer-songwriter, Jamie Gould. Often backed by an inter-changeable line-up of friends and family, he sings personal stories about humanness, spirituality and his love for music sub-cultures. LFTC have been described as honest, endearing and fiercely hopeful; alternative indie-folk with a subtle undercurrent of punk-rock heritage.
Following performances at prestigious UK venues and festivals, including Glastonbury, Nozstock: The Hidden Valley, Greenbelt, and Shambala, LFTC were snapped up by creative publishing label, PAK JÖI in 2014. Working closely with PAK JÖI, they released their debut EP Push Back The Hurricane in August 2015.
LFTC have since been picked up by BBC 6 Music and praised by iconic British presenter Tom Robinson. In session with BBC Introducing, they performed singles Restless, The Pattern Maker, and The Valley from their 2017 EP, The Pattern Maker.
LFTC's debut full length album (2021), Revolution Starts at Home, marked a shift to a full band sound (that travelled as far as the Scottish Isle of Mull)! Following the release of Revolution Starts at Home, LFTC was awarded LWMA's 'South West Band of the Year'.
The next album is currently in the works (circa 2024/25): watch this space!
