Loonie is here to stay with his much-awaited comeback album, "Meron Na." He showcases that collaboration is still one of the best ways to make good music by enlisting Philippine Hip-Hop artists Flow G, Omar Baliw, JRLDM, Smugglaz, and up-and-coming artist Hev Abi, just to name a few. The album also features stellar music production from Yung Bawal, Klumcee, Jim P, Apoc, and Ochomil. The diverse range of soundscapes and styles make the listening experience feel like a rollercoaster ride.
This album promises to unveil more about Loonie, sharing untold stories, including his controversial arrest due to frame-up and unjust imprisonment in 2019 that resulted in vindication in 2022. Loonie candidly speaks his truth in the 7-minute track, "Tugmang Preso.”
The focus track, "Pamanggulo," featuring artist JRLDM, explores the theme of life in-between. It narrates the struggles of "the unseen and the unappreciated." The song tackles the so-called Middle Child Syndrome. An ode to people often overlooked and living in the shadows of others. It also extends its narrative to mid-life struggles, silent battles, being stuck in limbo and knowing your purpose. Being a rapper from the "middle school" also adds another layer to the song in a subtle way. It addresses the hardships but also emphasizes the realization that life has no beginning or end without the in-betweens.
"Meron Na" not only showcases Loonie’s musicality but also provides an in-depth look into his life.
