After an 18 year break, Love Outside Andromeda return with their third LP, ‘Stella Interrupted’. Continuing their exploration of synth and electronic sounds, the album considers the gravity of Stella Franklin, the privileged world dissolving into the metaverse, the moment, inevitable nostalgia and moving forward despite mistakes that have been made.
A Melbourne born, semi-art school band formed in early 2000, releasing: ‘Umabel’ EP (2001), ‘Something White and Sigmund’ EP (2003), ‘Love Outside Andromeda’ LP (2004) and ‘Longing Was a Safe Place to Hide’ LP (2006). LOA toured Australia regularly in the final glory days of national alternative radio and compact disc sales. Failing at the time to recover from second album syndrome, the members all tried their hands at other projects. In 2019 they came back together and started sifting through the archives. The resulting ‘Acoustic Demos 2003-2005’ EP, features recordings captured on a mini-disc player in share houses around Melbourne. In 2020, remaining members Sianna, Jesse and Jamie started working on what would become ‘Stella Interrupted’ with mixer Mikey Young.
