Lovesick Puppies are a psychedelic slackfolk band from Nijmegen and proud holder of the bronze medal of the Dutch national championship for street musicians 2019. Their songs are inspired by the likes of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tess Parks and Wolf Solent. The band was named after a description of modern music coined by a conservative rock fan who insisted that contemporary musicians all sound like a bunch of lovesick puppies.
The Lovesick Puppies features Victor Duijkers and Merlijn Olthof on vocals, guitars and occasionally bass. Their first two releases ‘I am lucky’ and ‘Undone’ have been produced by Menno Esmeijer, who also played drums on the tracks. The songs are released by Desert Mine Music and Liedjescollectief.
