Low Sea take their cue from 1990s dream pop and noise pop acts like Mazzy Star, the Cocteau Twins, and the Jesus and Mary Chain in making their sultry, synthy tunes. The Irish duo, comprised of vocalist Billie and multi-instrumentalist Bobby D, began making recordings as Low Sea in 2008, when they were living in the South of France. Low Sea's self-released debut album, Las Olas, was released to favorable reviews (notably from the likes of Pitchfork, which did a lot in terms of raising the band's profile) in 2010. California's Lefse Records brought Low Sea on board for the duo's sophomore effort, The Light, which hit stores that fall. Another EP was rumored to be in the works for 2011. ~ TiVo Staff, Rovi
