Author of the novel Cielo di terremoto (1996) and of Blues on My Mind (2002), Istrioni & Sirene (2019) and other books abouth the blues, soul music and vocal jazz, Luciano Federighi (born in Pisa and bred in Viareggio) has been writing and singing eccentric blue ballads since the 1970s. His first LPs, with guitar player Fabio Ragghianti's band were recorded in 1979 (Loose as a Goose) and 1988 (In a Blizzard of Blue), followed by the Cd 15 Minutes & 30 Years (2003). The whimsical and dark variety of Luciano's songwriting is expressed in works with Tiziano Montaresi, Andrea Garibaldi, Davide Dal Pozzolo, Alberto Marsico, Diego Borotti and other jazz and blues musicians of the Versilia and Turin scenes: Forgotten Dreams (2007), On the Streets of Lonelyville (2010), Blues & Moonbeams on the Menu (2013), By the Lonely Lights of the Blues (2015). The ominous year of 2020 has seen him issue two more albums, both in a duo setting: Viareggio & Other Imaginary Places (with Luciano Federighi on piano and vocals and Davide Dal Pozzolo on reeds, a Cd illustrated by Luciano's own grotesque, expressionist drawings) and October Land (with Andrea Garibaldi on piano).
