A strapped college kid saved on rent by living in the closet of a Minneapolis recording studio subsisting on leftover pizza and beer from the bands that recorded there (despite having a severe gluten intolerance). Along the way, he found a talent for pushing the right buttons and faders to make the music sound good.
Isolated in a rural Alaska cabin, another kid spent his days making guitars, writing and recording songs, and waiting for the weekly mail boat to bring his mail-order CDs. Yearning for musical collaborators, warmer weather and internet connectivity, he rode his dogsled to the Twin Cities.
When the two met, Luedvig was born.
Stephen Helvig and Dan Luedke, former hermits of habitat, make up this artist/producer duo. But they're rarely alone anymore. Actively seeking out underground talent, Luedvig is constantly collaborating with aspiring artists. While genre feels increasingly irrelevant to the way music is created or consumed, their style reaches across synth pop, hip hop, and new alt realms.
