A native of East Los Angeles, Spanish guitarist Luis Villegas made his debut in 1998 with the album Cafe Ole which was on the Grammy ballot for Best New Age album of the Year. Spanish Kiss and Casa Villegas followed in 2000 and 2003 and Christmas album, Guitarras de Navidad, was released in 2007 in limited quantity.
For the next few years Luis concentrated on live performances with his band and also as a backup musician for other artists such as Joan Sebastian, Janet Jackson, Placido Domingo, ex-Great White singer Terry Ilous, and Ben Woods’ Heavy Mellow before releasing 2016’s Eastside Democracy. In 2021 Luis released three singles, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”, “Vente Pa Madrid” featuring Jose Garcia and “Breathe”.
