Stephen Duros is a genre-defying guitarist and composer known for his evocative blend of nouveau flamenco, world music, fusion, and cinematic soundscapes. His music feels like film told through strings — immersive, rhythmic, and emotionally luminous. His sound draws from landscapes of memory and light, carrying a sense of space and motion that invites both reflection and escape. Beyond the guitar, Duros is a seasoned visual artist — a master of light and shadow. With over two decades of experience lighting stages for artists such as TOTO, Olivia Newton-John, and as lighting director for the 2001–2002 “Down From the Mountain Tour” (featuring the artists from the Coen Brothers’ O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack — including Alison Krauss and Union Station, Emmylou Harris, and Patty Loveless), his visual storytelling profoundly informs his musical world. Having performed with Ottmar Liebert, and recently collaborating with Ottmar on their newly released dual albums - 'Rhythm Maps’, currently available on Bandcamp. Stephen's 'Rhythm Map's album is also available on iTunes and will be coming to streaming later in 2026.
Duros continues to expand the boundaries of instrumental music. His compositions merge rhythm and resonance, always chasing the place where light becomes sound.
