Luke Powell

Last updated: 2 days ago

At just 16 years old, Luke Powell is already building a story far beyond his small-town beginnings. Raised in Ferndale, California, Luke is a self-taught singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a powerful voice and natural storytelling instinct.

Luke first built a following close to home, performing at the Humboldt County Fair, Fortuna Chili Cook-Off, and California FFA State Leadership Conference at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center.

After a video of Luke warming up before a fair performance reached Nashville producers, he was invited to Music City to record. During that trip, he performed at The Bluebird Cafe and Fox & Locke, where he later had the chance to play his original song “Out Here” for Shaboozey outside the venue.

Luke has since signed with Nashville-based artist development and management firm Father Figures and is actively writing and recording new music. In July 2026, he opened for Shenandoah at Country on the Coast during the Fortuna Rodeo and later joined the band onstage to sing “Two Dozen Roses.”

Despite the growing opportunities, Luke remains grounded in Ferndale. An athlete, former rodeo competitor, and FFA member, his roots shape songs about small towns, family, growing up, leaving home, and chasing something bigger.

From Ferndale to Nashville, Luke’s world is getting bigger quickly—but at the center is a 16-year-old kid, a guitar, and a growing collection of songs worth hearing.
