Luv’ is one of the most iconic girl groups to emerge from the Netherlands, enjoying international success in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Formed in 1976 by Dutch producer Hans van Hemert and composer Piet Souer, Luv’ rose to fame with a catchy mix of pop and disco. The original trio—José Hoebee, Patty Brard, and Marga Scheide—won hearts across Europe, Latin America, South Africa, and beyond.
Their 1978 hit U.O.Me (Theme From Waldolala) led to You`re The Greatest Lover, a chart-topper that sold over a million copies. Their debut album With Luv` made them one of Europe’s top pop acts. Hits like Trojan Horse, Casanova, and Ooh, Yes I Do followed. Luv’ earned 14 gold/platinum records and the Conamus Export Award as top Dutch music export.
Their glamorous image and infectious energy made them pioneers of the European girl group scene. In 2025, Luv’ enters a new era with Only Luv' – The Matt Pop Remixes, a fresh remix album by Matt Pop (known for work with Erasure, Kim Wilde, and Steps), using original master tapes from Van Hemert and Universal Music.
Available on CD, pink/blue vinyl (with exclusive mixes), and soon on Spotify. Marga Scheide and José Hoebee remain active in honoring Luv’s legacy.
