L’vovo Derrango whose real name is Thokozani Ndlovu, was born in Newcastle, KZN.
His passion for the entertainment industry started during his days as a Language Practice student at the Durban University of Technology. He would MC in various events in and around Durban and through that, he met different personalities in the industry.
In 2006, he was given an opportunity by Zakhele “Zakes Bantwini” Madida who signed him under Mayonie Productions and that is how his first single Bayang’sukela came about. From that moment, he never looked back and recorded his first album which was self-titled (Lvovo Derrango).
The debut album gained him recognition and was nominated at the SAMA Awards for Best Kwaito Album.
In 2007 he won the Best Kwaito and Song of the Year Award at the Metro FM Awards held in Port Elizabeth.
In the same year, he was nominated for two Channel O Music Video Awards; Best Newcomer Video and Best Kwaito Video for his song, Bayang’sukela.
He has released seven (7) studio albums (Lvovo Derrango, The Teddy Bear, The Heavyweight, Irresistible, The Fabulous, The Headmaster, The Boss) that have earned him respect and saw him receive nominations for the SAMA Awards for Best Kwaito in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015 in respective albums.
He is currently signed under Mabala Noise and is set to release a new single Iyavaya ft Dr Malinga and Professor (taken from his forthcoming album due for release late this year).
