When M. T. Hadley released 'Janet', his heart wrenching debut single, an exploration of bleak sincerity in the face of his mother's death, it presented a subtle expression of emotional exactitude in an era of degenerate bombast and salacious pomp.

Next, on self-produced debut LP, 'Empty', Hadley solidified his position as a deft songwriter, with his wry humour exemplified in Chris Morris-inspired 'First Floor', and the yacht rock simmer of 'Private Eye'. In early 2020 he recorded a sombre chamber pop EP, 'There Isn't A Window That I Won't Look Out Of', a delicate ode to the art of songwriting itself.

His new album 'Make Room For Happiness' featuring writing and production contributions from Jim E Stack and Jockstrap’s Taylor Skye respectively—mark a subtle departure from 'Empty'. Instead, 'Make Room For Happiness' embraces a bombastic sadness: it’s music for intentional, restorative hope in a broken world. This is the antithesis of algorithmic background vibes and chill beats; 'Make Room For Happiness' is anti-doomscroll music that demands attention.
