M Twain started in San Francisco in 1996 with Even Caston (guitar vocals), and Zach Madden (drums, vocals). Early incarnations of the band included Justin Rencher, Gordon McGiver, Oscar Bucher, Jim Cleaves, Frances Mougne, and Ken Kellner. Even and Zach moved the band to Santa Barbara in 1997 and added Eric Bardakos on bass. They formed another trio featuring Madden, Bardakos, and adding Clifton Castelloe. Ongoing projects continue.
