Matthew Lee and the Standbys is a retro-leaning indie rock band based in NYC and rooted in the tri-state scene. What began as an annual musical theatre cabaret has grown into a full-fledged original project. Comprised of Matthew Lee (Vocals, Guitar), Nick West (Bass, B/G Vocals), James Collins (Drums), and Kevin Ray (Keys/Synth), the band has released two studio cover albums, and is currently promoting its upcoming debut original album, BLACK BOOK.
