Maethelvin is a french electronic music composer, born in 1983 in Nantes.
He started composing music in the late 90's, on several different synths and samplers, such as MPC's, ESQ1, etc. He was very influenced by artists such as Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Jan Hammer, but also by Video Game and US TV shows music.
In April 2007, he joined Valerie's team, a blog founded by his friend David Grellier (a French electronic composer as better know as College). As an historical member of the Valerie Crew, Maethelvin has made a lot of mixtapes and several demos. In 2012, a 7" has been released ("The Last Escape"/"Cruising"). He has also composed many remixes for talented artists, such as Minitel Rose, Kris Menace (ft. Miss Kittin), College, Anoraak ...
In april 2015, « CS005 » is released as the first album, under Valerie Records label.
« Continuum » EP has been released in december 2018, and contains new tracks previously made in live format.
« Lost Tapes From Hardware Memories » is Maethelvin’s latest release. Consisting of tracks made only with hardware gears (octatrack, MP7 and synths), this release is more organic, technoish and darker than previews releases.
Maethelvin’s is currently finishing some tracks, to be released end of 2022. Stay tuned.
