Originally formed in Madison, Wisconsin in 2012, Maffa Rico began as a project rooted in creating music for skate videos. Over time, it evolved into a richly textured sound defined by sun-baked drum and bass grooves, layered beneath intricate guitar and saxophone lines. Drawing from the spirit of late-’60s and early-’70s jazz and funk, the band blends vintage influences with a modern indie sensibility.
