Magic Chicken Fudgetoe (Perth, WA) are a grunge oriented beast, originally emerging from a shared passion for the underground sludge, thrash and noise rock scenes from the 1980s and 90s. Taking equal parts influence from all things heavy and gnarly, the result is an abrasive but hook-heavy sound taking as much of a sonic cue from Kreator as the Pixies.
For nearly 10 years Magic Chicken Fudgetoe have taken their brand of occult-tinged grunge to any and every stage in the isolated wasteland of Perth, Western Australia and beyond. Having shared the stage with touring legends Yawning Man (USA), Jack Harlon & the Dead Crows (VIC) and Seedy Jeezus (VIC).
"in truth the music Magic Chicken Fudgetoe make together is much a reflection of the name they have chosen for themselves, a collection of things put together with each other that on the face of it make no sense at all but then ultimately somehow does. Check 'em out .…"
- Frazer Jones, Desert Psychlist
In 2025 the band laid bare their darkest release yet, the Doom Charts approved-- Book of Uranium-235 And Other Hymns… And Other Hymns. This 9-track, post-apocalyptic, loose concept-album of tribal noise and doom-influenced rock seeks to reveal the power and persistence of religious iconography following the complete annihilation of the world. The album paints a stark, absurd and dark portrait of a post-apocalyptic future. A future that feels only more and more certain every day.
