Musical Melting Pot
What happens if traditional Afro-Peruvian rhythms meet warm post-rock sounds? Mágica Fe! Together with their band mates the Stuttgart-based combo formed around Débora Vilchez and Fabian Wendt generates sound worlds that you rarely hear but that will stick in your ears for a long time.
The unique sound cosmos of trip hop, progressive rock and world music floats on Débora’s warm and unusual voice – until it carries off the listener into her homeland Peru, where the vocalist and percussionist came in touch with the local Afro-culture, which is not so well known outside of Peru. Together with her band mates she is celebrating the magical faith (English for Mágica Fe) in music. They have created a Musical Melting Pot, a sensitive, yet powerful sound tableau of cajón rhythms and catchy melodies that is moving, enchanting and without equal.
Band members:
Débora Vilchez – vocals, cájon
Fabian Wendt – bass guitar, acoustic guitar
James Geier – electric guitar
Zura Dzagnidze – acoustic guitar, electric guitar
Thorge Pries – cájon, percussion
Christoph Raff – drums
