Magician’s Red are a progressive rock band from Helsinki, Finland. They sound like a group of 90’s kids who fell in love with their dads’ record collections at an early age, while also playing a whole bunch of PS1 games and watching Japanese anime. Their decidedly melodic songwriting pays tribute to the genre’s 70’s roots, but steers away from being merely a re-enactment of the past. The band was founded in 2019 and currently consists of Kalle Mattila (guitars, vocals, flute, saxophone), Taneli Mikkola (keyboards, vocals, trumpet), Otso Puolakka (bass, vocals) and Konsta Puro (drums, vocals).
