Chilean urban hip-hop act Makiza burst on the local scene with a self-produced album called Vida Salvaje, released in 1998. The band was formed a year earlier by Ana María Tijoux (aka Anita), Cristian Bórquez (Seo2), Gastón Gabarró (Cenzi), and Jean Paul Hourton (DJ Squat). Soon, the band signed with Sony Music, issuing Aerolíneas Makiza in 1999, which featured the hit single "La Rosa de los Vientos." ~ Drago Bonacich
