Lesotho-born singer-songwriter Maleh stands among Southern Africa’s most captivating vocalists, celebrated for her rich Afro-Soul sound and timeless storytelling. Her musical journey began with the Afro-Pop group <a href="spotify:artist:6NqwL8Kw1U91aUJwEnSKS8" data-name="KAYA">KAYA</a>, whose debut album <a href="spotify:album:0I4Kdpt1UJV1n3AY2Ez17X" data-name="Kunzima">Kunzima</a> earned a Metro FM Award for Best Newcomer in 2005, marking the start of a remarkable career grounded in authenticity and soulful artistry.
Her solo breakthrough came with Step Child (2011), a 12-track Neo Afro-Soul gem that showcased her signature blend of spirituality, rhythm, and emotion. The album’s hit singles Chimsoro and Under My Skin dominated South African airwaves, while Step Child earned the SAMA for Best African Adult Album and multiple Metro FM nominations for Best African Pop and Best Contemporary Jazz.
Maleh’s follow-up project, featuring the global hit You Make My Heart Go, propelled her onto the world stage. The song was listed by The Guardian UK as one of the Top Five African Songs of 2015, topping iTunes and radio charts across Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Botswana, the UK, Spain, and Brazil.
