Malin is a Norwegian children's pop singer who debuted to Top Ten success in 2006 after garnering fame at the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Born Malin Reitan on August 8, 1995, in Trondheim, Norway, she began her ascent to stardom with a first-place finish at the 2005 Melodi Grand Prix Junior contest. She next competed in the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in third place with her song "Sommer og Skolefri." Malin made her album debut the following year with Malin På Månen, a Top Ten hit on the Norwegian albums chart. In the wake of her breakout success as a recording artist, she released the holiday-themed album Malin's Jul (2006) at the end of the year, and it was also a big hit, reaching number 12 on the albums chart.
