Starting in 2015 with only a macbook and a dream, Mallive made a name for himself by quickly rising through the ranks of the Future Bass world. Working with Heroic Recordings, the Netherlands label that would eventually spawn <a href="spotify:artist:0jNDKefhfSbLR9sFvcPLHo" data-name="San Holo">San Holo</a> and Bitbird, he released a string of singles and the titanium certified-banger <a href="spotify:album:5UIdx1s7s5pWASNgIuMYvr" data-name="Nogawa EP">Nogawa EP</a>.
After spinning the originals, Mallive branched out to remixes. 2016 and 2017 saw the release of official remixes for <a href="spotify:artist:2qiKrh12VcghTug1rduLVm" data-name="Wolf Colony">Wolf Colony</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3zaxUd86U92CdZkNa6NUo9" data-name="Ark Patrol">Ark Patrol</a>, and even the superstar DJs <a href="spotify:artist:2LY0E3xg8svCVYXVNTze5T" data-name="Vanic">Vanic</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1yRxS3CXYM7s6amlkEmozI" data-name="Kap Slap">Kap Slap</a>. Mallive moved to Bonfire Recordings to drop <a href="spotify:track:2XSu3PeyJemqFgT60oMcaT" data-name="The Up and Down - Mallive Remix">The Up and Down - Mallive Remix</a>, and the long awaited [and in my opinion, totally under-appreciated] single <a href="spotify:album:6BLEmF6VgGAX4JbowFdQpO" data-name="Star Walk">Star Walk</a>.
The story cut short — after a late night DJ set on the Lower East Side, Mallive disappeared. Socials wiped of all posts, only to say "more soon".
And yet…in 2021, Mallive has returned.
The past four years have been anything but a hiatus — instead, critical hours put into honing production and developing a new dancefloor sound.
This time around, expect Mallive to mean: club edits, live visuals, and everything you didn’t know you wanted.
