Malum rose from the ashes as a new entity within the Norwegian underground. The prime directive is raw, atmospheric black metal—rooted in the bleak traditions of the second wave and shaped by modern existentialism and nihilism. The sound is both oppressive and cathartic, driven by restraint, intent, and a refusal of excess.

Carried across stages and festivals, the approach remains unchanged. Focused. Uncompromising. A fixed presence within the underground.

Their most recent release, From the Voids, does not abandon their core identity but drives it forward with greater force and clarity. The expression is refined into a cold, faceless descent toward inner collapse, now directed beyond introspection. The music is sharpened to its core, carrying this vision without compromise. What was once turned inward is now pushed outward.
