Marc Desse is a Paris-based singer-songwriter who first gained attention in the early 2010s with a series of singles released on the San Diego–based indie label Bleeding Gold Records. His breakout track, Video Club, received critical acclaim and marked the beginning of a long-standing collaboration with Detroit-based drummer David Graw.
In 2014, Marc released his debut album Nuit Noire on the French label Bordeaux Rock—a nocturnal, electric journey through urban soundscapes that blended French lyrics with sharp guitars and immediate pop sensibilities. The album showcased a unique artistic voice: contemporary, uncompromising, and entirely his own.
The following year, he took part in Saint Laurent’s “Paris Sessions” campaign, curated by Hedi Slimane, joining a select group of French artists featured in the fashion house’s portrait series. That same year, he released the dreamy single Griffith Park, deepening his connection with ethereal pop textures.
In 2018, Marc contributed a poignant cover—Petite fille, p’tite misère—to the tribute album Génération(s) Éperdue(s), honoring the work of Yves Simon.
His self-titled second album, Marc Desse, co-produced with multi-instrumentalist Gaël Etienne, was released in 2021. An expanded edition followed in September 2023, featuring additional tracks including the standout single Tout contre moi.
