Mari Merenda

Mari Merenda is a singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist from Brazil.
At 24, she went viral all over the world. Her videos singing and playing asalato - an african percussion got over 150 million views, succeeding with covers but also originals such as "Mulher Corvo". As a fruit of the special connection between the artist and the asalato and the imense interest of her public in it, Mari started a partnership with Asalato Sampa and developed two models of the instrument. In 2022, she released CRÔNICA, her first original album, - produzed and recorded by herself in her room.
The show was launched at SESC Belenzinho, São Paulo (Brazil) in 2023. In the same year, Mari achieved the MUS Musical Influencer Award, showcased at Vibra Hall. In November, she went viral once again, singing "Rodopiado" written by Ronaldo Silva. The video, recorded with Sophia Ardessore, reached the ears of the american group Sofi Tukker, who made their on twist called "Veneno" and got over 10 million streamings on Spotify. Mari got together with the group in São Paulo to perform at their show in GP Week, at Allianz Parque.
In 2024, Mari did her first Europe tour, going through Portugal, Spain and France. Now, back in Brazil, she takes the stage inspired by Brazilian regional music presenting her original songs, reinterpretations of renowned Brazilian composers and a lot of body expression. A repertoire that covers forró, ijexá, maracatu, coco, original tracks and many other charms.
