Maribel Tafur is an award-winning Peruvian composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer based in Barcelona. Her work explores the intersection of sound, memory and territory, blending ambient, experimental and downtempo approaches shaped by her classical piano training.

Her music is defined by immersive atmospheres, textured sound design and field recordings drawn from natural and cultural environments, with influences from Latin American landscapes and folklore.

She has released music on labels such as Delicieuse Musique, Sound Earth Legacy, New Latam Beats, Random Collective and Matraca. In 2024, she received the A’ Design Award in Music, Audio & Sound Design.

Her work has been featured by Forbes, DJ Mag, Bandcamp Daily, Remezcla, XLR8R and others, and presented at festivals, venues and platforms including Mostra, Amplify, Loop, Serra Madre, Fundación Telefónica, and international cultural programs.

She is also the founder of a music and sound design studio, creating original sound identities and compositions for multisensory experiences and contemporary gastronomy projects by chefs such as Virgilio Martínez and Pía León (Central, Mil, Kjolle, Maz, among others).
