As a singer-songwriter, poet and novelist, Marie Modiano has been enlightening the scene since her debut album "I'm Not A Rose" was released to critical acclaim in 2006. She has extensively toured throughout France and Europe, had her songs featured in a handful of movies, released acclaimed follow-ups "Outland" and "Ram on a Flag" as well as "Esperance Mathematique" - a collection of poems turned into a Nouvelle vague-inspired record composed by Swedish multi-instrumentalist and singer Peter von Poehl. Last fall, Marie Modiano released "Pauvre chanson", her most daring album to date, inspired by exotica records from the 60's and audacious French chanson produced by Von Poehl and featuring an impressive cast of international musicians (Nick Cave & Iggy Pop collaborator Larry Mullins, formet e.s.t. member Dan Berglund...).
