Mark Fossen is a Canadian singer/songwriter/producer currently based in the Okanagan region of BC [although depending on who you ask, he could also be from Ottawa or rural Nova Scotia. Nobody’s really sure.]
With lyrics that catch breath and reflect on the lives we all live and share, Fossen’s music takes an introspective deep dive into a wide array of subject matter — love, loss, self-discovery, mental illness — beneath a vocal tone reminiscent of Joshua Radin, Damien Rice, and Ray Lamontagne.
Following a steady rise out of his roots as a lowly Vancouver street musician, Fossen has spent the last decade coming into his own as an artist while making homes for his music on some of Canada’s most renowned festival stages and intimate living room stages alike.
His debut full-length release — Restless — a collaborative effort with acclaimed musician/producer Jim Bryson, was recorded and mixed entirely at Bryson’s studio [Fixed Hinge] in Stittsville, ON, and is now available everywhere.He is presently writing and recording new music out of his home studio on the outskirts of Vernon, BC, where he lives with his wife and two kids.
