Belgian-American composer Mark Van Overmeire was born in Sint-Amandsberg, Belgium, on 2 April 1968, but grew up in Bruges. Music sparkled his imagination when he was well in his teens and he started studying music theory, classical harmony, classical guitar, and percussion at the Municipal Conservatory of Bruges when he was 15 years old. He also studied harmony at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent.

Mark has released 4 albums on his record label Kramúsica Records, "shades of blue" (2025), "La Forêt ~ Drie Rivieren" (2021), "Angkor" (2011), and "Impresiones" (2003),.

The albums "Impresiones" and "Angkor" feature music inspired by his travels in South America and Southeast Asia respectively. The music on "Angkor" is performed by the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.

For his 3rd album, world famous guitar player Irina Kulikova performed and recorded Mark's works for the album "La Forêt ~ Drie Rivieren" which was released on March 2, 2021.

In 2025, four-time GRAMMY® nominee Skylark, under the artistic direction of Matthew Guard, released the album "shades of blue" with Mark's choral suites "Between the shadows" and "Hereafter am I". "shades of blue" was released on June 6, 2025.
