Marx is a UK Hip-Hop artist who has been releasing a steady stream of singles, EPs and mixtapes over the past few years. A true student of the culture, the Hull native has carved out a niche on the scene by successfully distilling his passion for Hip-Hop into his own blend of Northern Rap.
Having started experimenting with writing and recording rap songs at the ludicrously tender age of nine, Marx was a fully fledged obsessive from the start. His approach developed with time and he soon discovered that picturing himself performing his own renditions of his favourite songs - from artists and bands across multiple genres - allowed him to level up both in the studio and on stage.
While Hip-Hop was his first love, Marx became the frontman for numerous metal and punk bands in his earlier days, an experience that went on to inform and inspire the music that would follow further on down the line.
Self-described as Belter Northern Hip-Hop, Marx's music embraces the tongue-in-cheek attitude and self-deprecating style that have long played a part in rap's history, all underpinned with an undeniable sincerity towards his craft. Not to be written off as comedy rap, Marx's lyrics also focus on the sociopolitical themes he has witnessed, both on a personal and community level.
