Matija Krečič

Matija Krečič is Slovenia based composer, violinist and arranger.
He currently collaborates with <a href="spotify:artist:7exDOvjmJZcrxVfLM0twPT" data-name="Magnifico">Magnifico</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6Li8PzRCsL1Bx9Daxt0QUb" data-name="Hostnik pa Krečič">Hostnik pa Krečič</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:48cneGFVFRk062PwTL22iH" data-name="Teo Collori in Momento Cigano">Teo Collori in Momento Cigano</a>. In the last years he worked with Terrafolk, Gal and Severa Gjurin, Marko Črnčec, Žan Tetičkovič, P’Jays, Mar Django, Tango Story, Skarabej… He wrote the music for some short films and theater plays (Puppet Theater Maribor, SNG Drama Maribor). In 2013 he arranged Magnifico’s music for the serbian film “Montevideo, vidimo se!”, directed by Dragan Bjelogrlić. He composed and produced two complete musical ID for 1. channel of Slovenian national television (2016, 2017-). He received two awards for the best arrangement at Slovenian Song Festival (Popevka 2018 and 2023). He won Best Original Score Award at Slovenian Film Festival 2021 for the movie “Inventory”, directed by Darko Sinko.
Matija Krečič is very sought-after arranger. As a composer, he has cooperated with several Slovenian soloists and ensembles: Mate Bekavac, Bernarda Fink, Tanja Sonc, Jan Gričar, Ensemble Janus Atelier, MD7, Duo Furioso, Carpe Artem, Metabonma, Simfonični orkester Cantabile, Ingenium Ensemble, APZ Tone Tomšič, Ljubljanski Madrigalisti… His music was released on two albums: “Architexture” (Janus Atelier, 2014) and “Cut / Rez” (ZKP RTV Slovenia, 2020).
Matija Krečič is a member of Slovenian Composer’s Society and co-founder of Janus Atelier music collective.
