Following the widespread success of production efforts with the likes of Malaki, Lucy McWilliams and Nealo, Irish indie artist Matthew Harris returns with the more subtle and introspective “A Difficult Winter”, which will be released on 11th February 2021.
Since his early work with Malaki, the 21 year-old artist has been establishing himself both as a producer and artist across the country. Drawing from a wide variety of influences including Bon Iver, James Blake and Radiohead, Matthew’s soulful voice synthesises the intimacy and sensitivity of the aforementioned acts in a fresh, captivating way. A self-taught musician and producer, Matthew creates all of his music himself from his home in Dublin. His production style is uniquely eclectic, allowing him to dip into many different genres, such as the Bossa Nova-infused R&B present on Lucy McWilliams’ “Runaway”, or the more laid back, lo-fi hip-hop with Malaki such as on the summer hit “Fair Play”.
With “Fair Play” on its way to 3 million streams on Spotify, Matthew has also received enormous support from radio, being played on the likes of BBC Radio 1, RTE 2FM, Today FM, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. He has also amassed a multitude of placements on Spotify’s curated playlists including The Most Beautiful Songs in the World, Lush + Ethereal, Boho + Chill, A Breath of Fresh Eire, The New Eire, R&B UK and New Music Friday.
