Matthew Heath

Hi I’m Matthew Heath. I’m from a little town called Orangeburg, SC. I originally moved to Atlanta to become Dr. Heath and was well on my way until some friends asked me to play bass in their band. That band ended up signing a record deal so my aspirations of being a therapist were permanently put on hold. We recorded an album, saw the country, saw crazy things, did some crazy things, but alas our label after 5 years gave us the divorce papers. This is where things got interesting for me. Money ran out and I started out as a host at a restaurant in town called Cafe Intermezzo (try the oreo cheesecake). I thought it was the worst time of my life but it turned out to be one of the most important. I finally learned some humility, started writing songs all the time, learned how to produce, and found my own voice as a singer. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to call this my full time job once again, (no more cheesecake for me) and I get to work with the coolest people. I genre hop a lot or whatever that means. I just get too excited about everything and feel a compulsion to go after it and you’ll hear that reflected in my releases. Glad to have you along for the ride. I’ll try not to give you whiplash!
