Based on Vancouver Island, folk Singer/songwriter/finger-style instrumentalist Matthew J. Benedict serenades the Canadian west coast with his unabashed, acoustic storytelling. In live performance, his rich, powerful voice, brilliant guitar skills and humble presence, engage his audience into an experience all it's own. Matthew has been inspired by long time favourites such as the Tallest Man on Earth, Bob Dylan, Jose Gonzales, and Laura Marling, whose influence can be heard on his first full length album "Surrender". Released in 2015, his album showcases his talent for creating music that is consistently masterful of lyric, melody, and voice. Recently, Matthew has been experimenting with the styles of classical and flamenco music and working on a new untitled 4 song EP expected to be released in the summer of 2019.
