As one third of the underground hip-hop collective The Others, MC, sound editor, and songwriter Mattic made the promising transition from a North Carolina native to a freely moving and worldly artist. His travels across the globe and his eventual transplantation in France has ensured that his brand of hip- hop pulls from every conceivable musical corner. Honing his rhymes in The Others, Mattic’s stylized flow was the product of book-smart knowledge, clever 4th dimensional patterns and an assured command of cadence and rhythm. You wouldn't know it (as he prefers it that way) but this artist has been around a big number of your pioneers in the music industry....but he stays very low key. Mattic has earned valuable stage and studio time in which he has mastered his craft in both areas. An unexpected offer by French DJ <a href="spotify:artist:3qwxSif06Qwzykdln8ZGfG" data-name="Wax Tailor">Wax Tailor</a> had the rapper moving to France for a number of collaborative projects and his profile was considerably raised. Mattic’s venture as a solo artist was a natural progression. The American-born and now France-based MC continues to deliver prolifically in his craft, though the talents evident in his work should have household recognition. Wider renown has eluded the rapper and perhaps his reclusive and introverted methods beget such results. He remains one of hip-hop’s most imaginative progenies, however, carving a singular niche for himself among a never- ending influx of upstarts. Mattic’s eventual supernova, then, should be a thrilling spectacle.
