May Days In Barcelona

Sheffield based May Days in Barcelona is primarily the work of violinist and multi-instrumentalist Simon Clowes. 
Solo live shows are based around Simon using up to 4 loop pedals simultaneously, to create a melodic wall of sound, with violins weaving over fuzzy shoegaze guitars and analogue synths. May Days In Barcelona’s sound draws from elements of Post-Rock, Minimalism and Baroque Pop but always within a strong focus on emotional communication through songwriting.

Following on from 2019’s minimal piano based “Kestrel Variations” 2023 saw the release of the debut album “All the Spring Promised Us” released by Plastic Palace. An album which explores “deeply personal themes translated through superb lyricism and melancholic textures” (Narc, 2023) May Days In Barcelona will be playing live throughout 2023-2024 both as a solo act and with a newly expanded lineup.
