Independent artist, singer, songwriter and producer, Maya Yenn’s irresistible cocktail of melodic pop and charismatic weirdness combine to produce a truly unique sound with eccentric but accessible appeal. Through narrative-heavy, immersive songwriting, Maya is able to handle complex themes with discerning self-awareness to create music that’s equal parts playful and honest. Despite being at the start of her career, Maya’s first three singles have all received consistent support from BBC Introducing and two of the three singles were selected by Tom Robinson for the BBC Introducing Mixtape for BBC 6 Music. Maya has recorded two BBC Live Sessions, her self-directed music video for “How Much Sadness Can You Swallow?” won “Best Music Video” at several film festivals last year including the British Independent Film Festival, and her most recent release, “Better Luck Next Time” was Gemma Bradley’s BBC Introducing Pick of the Week on BBC Radio One. Her anticipated fourth single, “Sour Grapes” is a partially-satirical take on adulthood not being all it's cracked up to be, set to characterful, bombastic pop.
