Maya is a high school student currently residing in the US.She is well known as a singer on TIkTok, posting videos of herself playing an acoustic guitar singing cover songs.Her post in which she sang “Napoli” by Vaundy went viral in March 2023, and eventually made her a star, accumulating over 4.5million views, and 125.5k followers.January 2024, her rich and powerful voice caught the attention of music producer, Yoko Kanno, and eventually led her sing the song “Blue feat. Maya” for Honda’s global campaign.In July of the same year, Maya was selected by m-flo, a music unit consisting of ☆Taku Takahashi and VERBAL, for the first single in their revived "loves" series, and "HyperNova/ m-flo loves Maya” was released.
