By the time MAYDAY PARADE began work on Sugar, the closing installment of their three-part album series, they had pushed themselves further than ever before. Sugar brings the trilogy to a close in powerful fashion, emphasizing both reflection and forward momentum through the driving emo pulse of first single “Blame It On The Youth,” the hypnotic piano ballad “What Happens Next,” the glossy melodic groove of “Two Hearts,” and the nostalgic energy of “Sweet Sad Sugar” that reflects on the Tallahassee roots that shaped them.
