Formed in Lisbon, the members of Mazarin come from disparate locations of Portugal, and their sound simultaneously reflects the Portuguese academic musical landscape, North America's intersection of jazz and hip-hop, London's new jazz scene and African rhythms that range from afrobeat to funaná. Their self-titled debut EP came out in 2018 and was followed by two more records put out by Monster Jinx.
They've been playing several festivals and shows stretching their live act throughout a variety of contexts, from having hosted jam sessions to revisiting repertoire of Portuguese protest music or J Dilla's productions.
Mazarin's first album will be released in 2024 and it will gather every musical apex they've explored so far.
