Maztek (Matteo Cavo), a pioneering drum and bass neurofunk producer from Rome, Italy, has been shaping the electronic music scene since 2004. His breakthrough came in 2012 with the single "Galactica/Odyssey" on Renegade Hardware.
Matteo’s musical journey began at 13 with guitar and percussion before transitioning into electronic music at 18, exploring drum and bass, electro, grime, dubstep, and hard techno. In 2005, he founded Subculture Records, which quickly gained international recognition.
In 2018, Maztek launched 0101 Music, an independent drum and bass label based in the Netherlands, to promote innovation and emerging talent. Known for his forward-thinking sound, Maztek collaborated with notable acts like Andy C, Noisia, Ed Rush, and Redman, cementing his reputation in both the electronic and hip-hop worlds.
After a brief hiatus, Maztek is returning in 2024, bringing his signature futuristic sound back to the forefront as he produces beats for major artists in the scene. Additionally, he’s exploring new sonic landscapes through Aumaaz, his trip-hop and downtempo alias, offering a more atmospheric and introspective style.
