Music duo, Meech Brothers is a long-running musical collaboration between brothers Clint (vocals, keyboards) and Gareth Meech (vocals, guitars).

From Wellington, New Zealand they have played music together since they were kids. They were in various bands throughout high school (including a Rockquest finalist) and their university years. They went from running an R&B/soul band that played in dive bars across the Wellington region to taking their first steps as songwriters with their band Blender – formed with longtime musical comrade Ross Malloy.

Ross would go on to become a guitar technician for the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:3HmMT81W29LjSKNjl1Iy1s" data-name="Shihad">Shihad</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2AsaDvs6UY4MJ4X3UQeUbu" data-name="Weta">Weta</a> before moving to Australia and touring with the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:1RM5gp0RFfjpJhCYFPB30p" data-name="Nick Cave">Nick Cave</a> (and others).

Gareth and Clint spent some of those post-Blender years travelling in Europe before finding themselves back in Wellington soon after the turn of the century. Clint became a permanent fixture of <a href="spotify:artist:5BwSlXKcQti5BcG6pmS30u" data-name="Matt Hay">Matt Hay</a>&#39;s band, toured with <a href="spotify:artist:5sk3FFw7hAV30RuvlWRcgD" data-name="Matt Langley">Matt Langley</a> and later joined indie bands <a href="spotify:artist:1pBZ5ZDLMnMr0yltsrxCCx" data-name="Anxiety Club">Anxiety Club</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4pVdOr2DQYCNVG8bgCmOhT" data-name="Orangefarm">Orangefarm</a>.

Gareth and Clint began writing and recording again – now under the <a href="spotify:artist:0BWIct9ufeYn8WHXc5PFjr" data-name="Meech Brothers">Meech Brothers</a> moniker – and went on to release a trilogy of EPs: Lost at Sea, poco and Brown Owl.

By most definitions they are a folk duo, but in their recorded work they will color their songs with shimmering electric guitars, organs, thrift-store casiotones, synthesizers, ukuleles, brass, drum machines, or drums and bass.

2023 saw the release of a flurry of singles - including <a href="spotify:track:7kFWfOTxBhk9LuBafYaoQM" data-name="Korean Restaurant">Korean Restaurant</a>
