Melle captures the essence of music with an unrefined, natural, and authentic sound, embodying a raw and youthful spirit. His music is organic and intentionally lacks polish, giving a sense of pure, unfiltered expression.
He's inspired by Sam Fender, Phoebe Bridgers and Tom Odell, but he grew up listening to bands like The Beatles, Coldplay and Abba which is why he instinctively writes songs with beautiful harmonies and recognisable melodies.
Melle is an instrument collector, playing over 20 different ones on his debut debut album and stuffing his studio with a cimbalom, theremin, taishogoto, his signature 'cigar box guitar' and much more.
This unique palette of textured sounds sets him apart most of all and so does his soothing voice that sounds as if he’s sitting right next to you on the couch.
In his songs he illuminates both the joys and challenges of relationships and shows his views on the problems of today’s society, like capitalism and inequality. His songs 'Living Like That' and 'How Does It Feel To Be You' with néomí demonstrate that perfectly. Latest single 'Good Enough' is about the uncertainty of love and wether it's ever strong enough to withstand everything life throws at you.
Over recent years, Melle has been establishing himself as one of Netherlands' most promising new voices. He supported Douwe Bob on his tour for 24 shows to a combined audience of over 31,000 and played with Charlot at Lowlands and Afas Live. He just sold out his own headline tour.
