Mellow Doubt is the recording project of Asbury Park-based singer-songwriter Conor Christopher. Originally conceived as a solo acoustic endeavor, the project soon grew into a power-pop tinged outfit (taking its name from a song by Scottish pop stalwarts <a href="spotify:artist:2Sp19cOHSqAUlE64hekARW" data-name="Teenage Fanclub">Teenage Fanclub</a>). Mellow Doubt’s debut LP ‘Same Shade of Blue’ packs ten musical vignettes into a breezy 25 minutes. Drawing influence from songwriters like <a href="spotify:artist:7CW5MYWUsyUYiHbiTmVZHe" data-name="Alex Chilton">Alex Chilton</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4Aq4ePZT5OKPz94Fd1stey" data-name="Evan Dando">Evan Dando</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2fmfhABysLV519rQYOBvtm" data-name="Tony Molina">Tony Molina</a>, the record demonstrates an unabashed adoration for the tradition of pop music and bittersweet hooks.
