Memphis Kee knows exactly who they are—& who they’re not. They’re not trend-chasers or opportunists. They’re veterans of a music scene where country grit meets rock energy, intricacy meets force, and Oklahoma collides with Texas. As rock-edged Red Dirt surges back into focus, Memphis Kee stands at the forefront—not adopting the sound, but perfecting it.
This powerhouse Austin-based quintet has spent years building a loyal following on the strength of their acclaimed debut Wimberley and a relentless touring schedule. Now, with the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album Dark Skies, they deliver singer and songwriter Memphis Kee’s commanding vocals and unflinching storytelling, matched by the band’s precision and sonic agility.
Produced by Adam Odor at Yellow DOG Studios in San Marcos, TX Dark Skies showcases Kee (lead vocals, guitar), Spencer Carlson (lead guitar, vocals), Paul Pinon (drums), Joey Sisk (bass), and Chris Loyd (keys, guitar, vocals). The music spans from the anthemic “I’ll Come Runnin’” & “Twenty Dollar Chain” to the painful ballads “Hummingbird,” “Black Butterfly,” and “Being a Kid", all the way to the funk of "Pedro".
Since forming in 2020, Memphis Kee have connected deeply with audiences through shows that blend barroom grit with timeless songwriting. With critical acclaim & new partnerships through Edgewater Music Group and Western Grunge Records, they’re not just part of the Red Dirt and Americana movement—they’re defining where it goes next.
