Primarily a solo endeavor, Bauman crafts dreamy guitar and synth-heavy soundscapes inspired by the new wave and post-punk bands of the early 1980s. Bauman writes, performs, and produces Mercury Teardrop's music, along with conspirators Rosalie Sonsalla, Ted Johnson, Ed Eagle, J.H.M, Tim Condor, and many more adding their vocal talents. Outside of his solo work, Brad is also the lead guitarist for the Vancouver-based band <a href="spotify:artist:1fenl9JXN2FogRP22uOFd5" data-name="Modern Angel">Modern Angel</a>. Since forming Mercury Teardrop, he has garnered international attention for his sonically dystopian, post-rock-leaning sound.
