"Ethnic Dub Simmphony" was the second full length release on Map Music, and our first full-length artist album. A wicked blend of exotica, dub, ethnotechno and spacey dub'n'bass, this album is a trip from beginning to end through world music electronically and organically - a technorganic feast.
Originally released April 27, 1997. Composed, programmed, engineered and produced by Dan Handrabur inside Outersanctum. Additional crucial synth programming and sampling by Cristina Handrabur.
Cover concept and photos by Dan Handrabur, watercolour by Erra. Cover layout and design by Ora Design.
Mastered by Sonic Sourcer and Dan Handrabur at Red Stripe.
We are happy to give you the "Lives and Times of Nyquist Hex", a new collection of Mere Mortals, released January 2020.
So who is Nyquist Hex?
An imaginary being that invented the sampling frequency and made MIDI possible by turning a note into hex digi code. Gave me the power to assemble, rework, process, construct, destroy and rearrange African, Indian, Tibetan, Romanian folklore and sounds into a disparate yet homogeneous collection of semi-instrumental electronic pop songs, served with a hint of faraway exotic travels.
